The Centre
We opened The Acupuncture Centre on
Newton Road, Mumbles in 1993. In February 2004 we moved to
Gower house, 30 Dunns Lane. We renovated the building over
the winter of 2003/2004 which now provides two ground floor
treatment rooms, a light and spacious waiting room with disabled
access and WC, first floor office and treatment/group room.
The ambience of the centre is very important to us. To this
end we have designed a space through the use of colour and
light which is both clinical and professional, calming and
reflective.
Through continuing professional development and networking
we stay in touch with modern research and development in Chinese
Medicine and also the profession in the UK. Currently Acupuncturists
and Herbalists are undergoing a process of government registration.
The Acupuncture Centre is also a member of, and meets regularly
with, ‘Spectrum Associated Centres’. Spectrum
is a training organisation and practice for humanistic and
integrative psychotherapy in London, associated with five
centres outside London. The benefit in becoming a member of
Spectrum Associated Centres is to work with centres who uphold
similar standards of practice and professional ethos in running
a centre, and who are committed to their professional development.
